1.) Review: The ‘Lost’ Finale a year later by Alan Sepinwall
(Article).
This review
was very accurate to how I felt about the show after it ended. This writer took
a neutral standpoint as to how he felt about the show. His style assessed how
although many questions were not answered, the depth that was put into the
characters made the show exciting and a worthwhile ride to take. He stressed
how you can't completely knock the show just because many mysteries seemed to
be unsolved and was very descriptive in talking about the character development
that took place.
2.) Lostwatch: All of This Matters by James Poniewozik
(Article).
This writer
had a very interesting style of explaining how the show can be interpreted two
different ways through a scientific based standpoint led by Jacks character or
a faith driven standpoint shown by Locke. He does a great job in explaining the
shows ultimate purpose, emphasizing the importance in community in our lives
and how essential human relationships are. Through his style he is able to
justify how the show effectively started and ended with Jack and he praised
Mathew Fox’s performance in the finale.
3.) ‘Lost’ Finale: The Ending Explained by Chad Post (Article).
I loved how
this writer showcased Lost as a work of art. He explained how art leaves things
open to interpretation and often has questions that go unanswered although
viewers can still create patterns of meaning themselves. His style dives deep
into how art functions in our lives and he was persuasive in convincing how
Lost was art in different ways. I really
enjoyed his analysis upon how the show took on a brilliant narrative arc and
was more about the characters than the unsolved mysteries.
